Just caught up on the most recent pair of episodes!
This Lenny story is so sad. For her to voice aloud that she fears she might not see 2025... it's heartbreaking. There's a real sense of tension to the entire canvas as word spreads about her dire condition and the stark reality sets in. I do enjoy how it's rallying the family around her. Not that the Saunders clan isn't usually close, but there's a deepened sense of togetherness right now. Tanner seems to need Presley's support but doesn't want to speak up fully, maybe because of everything going on, so they're caught in this weird stasis, too.
I'm both surprised and not surprised that Martha ended things with Samuel. I don't think it was especially logical, but it makes sense that she feels like her life is too much of a mess to have space for a healthy relationship at the moment. You can tell she's so torn up about how to handle the Murray issue with regards to SJ that she's putting up walls. And of course, we have Jes swooping into town and not being subtle about her intentions toward Samuel at all. I like how this brings more of the Guptas' history into town in an organic way. Samuel might be ripe for the picking now, and of course, I expect Martha to regret her decision at some point. What a complicated mess!
I was glad to see Shauna reaching out to Martha, although it didn't last long enough to grant either of them much perspective or comfort. I'm really curious as to what Shauna's plan is going to be. The clock is ticking, and this becomes less and less something she can hide. It was also nice seeing Max and Aaliyah connect, as two people who haven't really interacted before. I have some curiosity about what you have planned for Aaliyah next, since she's kind of been taken to a rock bottom and now has to rebuild.
Good episodes!
