Deirdre's plan to get rid of Jacques might truly back fire now if Emma accepts his proposal. It would be fitting for Jacques to, unknowingly, get the upper hand on Deirdre in this way. I do wonder if Emma wishes that the proposal was more romantic, but here we are.
Max really did snap at Shauna when she did nothing wrong - I get that Max was upset by the fact that he fell, and that Daniel was trying to help him, but lashing out at your wife will not solve anything. I get why Max doesn't want to hear anything that Daniel has to say right now, but his advice was spot on. And of course, the place that Shauna ends up, Antoine is there. These two will continue to get closer, I suspect. I still wonder how Shauna will feel if she learns that Max went to Courtney to get her to change his mind about Shauna working at the company. But Antoine is totally correct that Shauna needs things that make her happy in her life that have nothing to do with Max; having that boundary will help them.
Good episode!

Oh sheesh! If Deirdre's machinations push Emma into actually marrying Jacques... wow. Was Will *really* that bad, Deirdre? (I guess she'd probably say so, lol.) I also cackled at Esther calling Jacques "Lumiere" in the prior episode.
Since I'm commenting on two episodes at once here, I should note how much I enjoyed that you allowed Episode 282 to be all about the fallout from Lynn's diagnosis. These sorts of stories don't hold much heft if you just race through the big events. The gold is in how it affects everyone, not just the patient, and their perceptions of their lives and current circumstances. There was a somber, uneasy mood throughout that episode as everyone processed the news. I like that Brynn was perceptive enough to encourage Elijah to attend a meeting, and that Tanner had a moment to grapple with her lack of religious faith while being in a relationship with a man of the cloth. Lenny's stubbornness and independent nature were on full display once again, too, but of course she can't go through all this alone or simply power her way through it. I'm glad that Louise and Sean are coming together in a less fraught way than usual to be there for their daughter, too.
Esther and Steven discussing Lynn's diagnosis *and* referencing the secret about Emma's paternity did get me thinking about a potential way this could all go, too...
Max's current attitude is understandable, but he's so clearly pushing Shauna away by being unable to get out of his own way. For once, Daniel gave him some solid advice. Meanwhile, Shauna is turning to Antoine more and more, and I can't blame her. She's like a stranger in that house sometimes. It's nice to see that Mae and Gus's relationship continues to deepen, too.
Good episodes!
