This is proving to be quite a dramatic December!
Emma really is the classic antiheroine. Just as we're rooting for her to keep it together, and it seems like she sees through Jacques... she gives in to her most base desires. And Will was awfully smart to go check the story with the worker at the spa, but his timing couldn't have been worse. What a disaster! This really could shake up a ton of dynamics in Radcliffe now. And it's going to make Jacques even more smug. I wonder if word of this will make Courtney even less tolerant of Jacques, though. And it's nice that Steven agreed to go to the Covington Christmas celebration with his wife, because being the one to stand between her and her family wouldn't have been good, but there's so much simmering tension and unspoken feeling going on in that marriage that it seems like it has to blow up at some point.
It was nice to parallel the Martha/Shauna hangout in the prior episode with the Max/Samuel one in this most recent one. The friendships on T&C really unite the canvas, and you do a nice job of making those bonds all distinct and believable. Nothing HUGE happened in those scenes, but it was great to see the various characters touch base, as well give and receive some advice. Great example of those "in-between" sorts of scenes that soaps need to work.
It was clever to have Jolene catch Sean and Louise, which put her in a position to think she was helping her daughter, only to have Tricia reveal the truth... which actually led to Jolene opening up to her, as well. I liked how Tricia, even as she was explaining the reality of her marriage and appreciating that her mother was asking questions, was resistant to actually opening up to the woman. I wonder if Wade will ever tail Jolene to Radcliffe or if she'll begin to settle in town.
Oh, and I liked the semi-detente between Jordan and Ernest. For that family, that's huge progress!
Good pair of episodes!

I mean, from the moment the last episode ended, we all KNEW that this scene was coming where Will was going to catch Jacques & Emma in the act, but it was still dramatic and fun to see it unfold. Emma has really put herself in a tough position now because Will is going to be FURIOUS, not to mention they work together, so it's not like they can avoid one another. And Jacques will have a lot of tea to tell Deirdre now, which will be her Christmas present. I am curious to see how this all unfolds and how Courtney reacts to hearing that Emma and Jacques slept together because I do think that there is something between them as well. I love how messy this is and there are so many possibilities as to where this goes next, which is fun. After all the back and forth between Jolene and Tricia, it was nice for them to have a real genuine mother/daughter moment; the only other time we've seen Tricia like this are in some scenes with Jordan. I liked how they are going through a similar situation with their husbands and another woman. They could actually bond over this, which would be unique considering how tense they were when Jolene first got to town. And, Tricia offered her to stay as long as she wants - so much for her divorce from Sean happening once her mother leaves town Sweet scene between Ernest and Jordan - after everything that happened, it is nice that they are trying to make amends, even though it won't be easy. They've been through so much, it will take a lot to get back on track, but at least this is a good step. You have a lot of fun stuff happening right now!
