First of all, excellent choice by including "Stuck" in this episode! What a throwback bop.
And Jacques... when I find you...! He is such a snake. He didn't exactly lie to Will, but he left out a huge piece of the story. Emma was violated by what Jacques did, but now it makes it sound to Will as if she's been keeping secrets from him. I really enjoyed Steven and Sean, two character who don't interact much, having a chance to get into deeper conversation (and acknowledge how unusual that was for the two of them); it also provided an opportunity for Steven to cross paths with Emma and reflect on this big secret he's been keeping. Courtney hasn't been deceitful when it comes to Jacques's advances, which she has consistently shut down, so I hope Steven recognizes that he's not exactly in the clear, either. The two men both gave one another some good advice that they should be mindful of taking themselves, as well! I did enjoy Mae's snappiness with Jacques. Someone's got to put that guy in his place. And the softening between Mae and Will was really nice to witness -- until Gus came up and Will got his hackles up again. I do hope to see some healing for that family, but it doesn't look like the holiday will accomplish that.
That was certainly a tense scene at the café. I like the uneasy bonding between Thora and Tricia, two women who are very different yet have strangely aligned life paths. In some ways, Tricia could be seen as a younger version of Thora if she remains in her marriage. Jolene has gotta be up to something. I noticed that call she dodged from Wade. I wonder what's up with that. Is she on the run from him but doesn't want to admit it? The tension between Louise and Tricia was palpable. I can't say Louise has been a paragon of virtue lately, but she has conducted herself with relative grace. Tricia always goes so low, so fast.
You have some really interesting dynamics brewing right now! Good ep.
