Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Bre!

The holiday celebration at Home Farm was quite different than the warm-and-fuzzy Christmas we saw at the Saunders' place last week. I liked how you centered it all on Jordan's continuing descent into madness, with everything else kind of spinning around that main story. I appreciated how Shauna could sense that something is up with Jordan and showed her some kindness and attention. That says a lot about Shauna (and how she stands out from the Covington clan at times!). I had a feeling, once Jeremy was found to be missing, that Daniel and Gabriella were behind it somehow. Thank goodness the little boy is okay -- and even Daniel recognizes that it was awful to use his young grandson for a scheme like that, but he's so focused on getting rid of Jordan that he can hand-wave away that decision. I do hope he pays for all of this in the end! It's sad to see Jordan suffering so much, though.

It was a sweet moment when Shauna told Max about her pregnancy, although his response wasn't fully enthusiastic, and I think he's concealing some misgivings about becoming a father. And that exchange between Emma and Courtney was quite biting. I liked how Courtney pointed out that *Emma* was the one who brought up Jacques. I'm not sure there's much for Courtney to tell Steven, since she didn't even engage with Jacques's flirtation, so I hope that doesn't somehow bite her in the ass.

That was my approach to showing the difference between Christmas celebrations with the Saunders' at the farm and the Covington's at Home Farm this year. I wanted to showcase Jordan's descent into madness on what is supposed to be the happiest day of the year to show how far gone she has become and to finally have others take notice of it as well, including Shauna, who in a way is an outsider to the wealthy Covington's, though she gets along better with most of them. And even though Daniel and Gabriella were wrong about Jeremy's disappearance, I also wanted to showcase that bit of vulnerability in him using his grandson. I'm sure he'll pay for his crimes if and when they're revealed.

I think Max is happy, but he was taken aback by the news himself, though you might be onto something regarding his foray into fatherhood. Max and Shauna will be heading back to the front burner in the new year, which tells how important their story will become. And that scene with Emma and Courtney was a last-minute thing I came up with. I knew I wanted Emma in this episode but wasn't quite sure how to feature her because she isn't exactly close with the family. Yet I remember things between her niece and Jacques and decided to take it from there. This story will also get more attention in the new year.
