Good, painful episode! I appreciate that you are giving Sean and Tricia's grief, as well as the shock of losing Dylan, some time and space to breathe, rather than just rushing on to another plot point. I think a lot of us can relate to Sean's feelings about religion -- unsure whether to believe at the best of times, unable to comprehend a higher power when something so awful happens. Yet maybe the universe IS moving him and Tricia toward something more fulfilling, through all this pain. I appreciate that you've kept the "sharp edges" of both Sean and Tricia, and it's only natural that we would see those even more as they grieve: Sean lashing out at Samuel, and Tricia being prickly about people offering condolences. And that little snap of awkwardness between her and Jordan, when Jeremy came up, was very real, too.
Interesting to parallel that storyline with the end of Thora and Ernest's marriage, considering that so much of their dysfunction goes back to the death of their own (albeit adult) son. From the moment Thora walked in and found the house tidier than expected, it felt like something had shifted. I was surprised Ernest granted the divorce so amicably, after all this, but it signifies that he has grown, too. I'm curious to see where life takes Thora next!
And that was a clever way of having Will find out that Emma lied. Good reminder that the Covingtons have eyes on them in a way that Will wouldn't quite understand. I wonder what he's going to do in reaction to learning this...
Good ep!

Wow another emotionally charged episode. Like Michael said, it is nice that you're really playing all of the beats of the grief with Sean and Tricia because this is a huge loss for them, and everyone that they are connected with. I loved Jordan comforting Tricia, but then realizing that she was speaking about Jeremy and feeling bad - those are such natural reactions. Sean also being overly aggressive with Samuel makes sense; he has so many emotions going through his head right now, it makes sense that he would lash out at someone, and that is Samuel. I can see how this could really rip Sean and Tricia further apart now. Was Lou at the service? I was hoping to see a moment between her and Sean, but maybe that is still coming.
I also loved the scenes with Thora and Ernest. Like Michael noted, it was a parallel to the funeral in the sense that this marriage has also come to an end, but it was nice that Ernest realized that he has to give Thora what she wants. I do suspect, however, that they will come together as Jordan's plot moves forward with her being drugged, ect.
And damn, Will knows the truth now. I wonder how he will handle Emma and Jacques now ...
