Oh, no, Elijah! He's so far down this wormhole that he doesn't realize how bad it is. He really thought he could pull off showing up late and drunk and just get to work. I'm glad that he had Tommy to take care of him while Tanner and Lynn are now aligning forces. The fact that he drove to work is pretty scary! I wonder if they'll bring his parents in on this now. I can't imagine they will be pleased. On the plus side, having a crisis to face together kept Tommy and Tanner from getting into it too badly -- sometimes a common goal or shared concern can help repair a fractured relationship, at least to the point of civility.
It's clear that Mala has her daughter's best interests at heart, but she's a bit of a hard-ass, and that tactic doesn't work with Aaliyah. Instead, it pushes her away. I do hope Lorenzo will hear Aaliyah out. She might've overstepped, but she was trying to help him the best she knew how, and his pride and shame are going to be his downfall if he doesn't let some of his vulnerability show. No one has all the answers or all the resources! Everyone needs support.
Louise is never going to give Tricia an inch -- and I can't say I blame her. It's nice to see she and Sean getting along but still a little prickly at the drop of a hat.
Good episode!
