Happy (early) Christmas to you and the good people of Radcliffe, Bre!
This was a longer-than-usual episode, which worked well for the holiday. It was nice to get a glimpse at how all the different family units were spending the day. I really appreciated the way you had the Saunders folks all in the same room, being hit by memories of holidays past, as Peter's memory loomed large over them. Sarah Lynn seemed to show some real strength throughout the episode, which hopefully persists as she gets herself to a new normal. I'm not entirely surprised that Tanner fell for Tommy's routine -- I think his regret is genuine, but with an even bigger secret still looming, this feels like a time bomb. I have zero faith that Jordan will keep her mouth shut, either. It was nice of Aaliyah to help Tommy out, though.
I could totally see Mae's side of things in bringing Will along, but I do worry that she's being played yet again -- even if Will doesn't consciously mean to be doing so. I appreciated everyone else having their hackles up about Will, and the way the tension between Max and Antoine still exists even though they're on the same side of this. What a complicated family issue with no clear resolution, other than time and Will proving that he won't screw up again.
I don't entirely think Emma knows what she wants where Jacques is concerned. Deirdre's advice actually wasn't bad, but them Emma totally set herself up for further pain. I have a feeling she's jealous and upset about Jacques's wandering eye more than she actually wants to break up with him. She wants him to want her. What a screwed-up dynamic!
I like how the canvas has kind of expanded this year. It doesn't feel unwieldy, but it's slightly less insular, and I think that really works with the community vibe you have going. Oh, and the side-eye about the green bean casserole had me cackling.
Thanks for providing steady entertainment during a challenging year! I hope you have a peaceful holiday season.

Merry Christmas Bre! Thanks for all the great entertainment that you have provided the last few years.
This episode was a real treat as we got a glimpse of Christmas with all the various families. I really loved how worried the family was about Sarah Lynn; being the first Christmas without Peter was going to be difficult no matter what, so it makes sense that she would have a hard day with her grief. I really love SL's relationship with the twins as well; they seem to connect on a better level than Sarah and some of her children lol!
And oh Tommy, what kind of mess are you digging yourself into. You plead your case to Tanner only to lie to her again ... this time about something far worse than kissing Jordan. I mean, if I was Tanner, I'd walk the other direction since he lied again, on Christmas Day no less! I sense this won't end well for the young man.
I'm not sure what Emma's POV is right now with this engagement she has going on with Jacques. The last episode, I got the sense that she was upset with him for his playboy ways and how it was creating a negative image for her ... and now she is falling into bed with him. Is she doing this just to go against her mother's advice? She's an interesting character with a lot of complexities. I'm looking forward to see more this be fleshed out in the new year.
And Antoine's advice to Max to keep an eye on Shauna makes me wonder if there is still something more going on with her, despite the therapy. Is there something lingering there or is this just a way for his feelings for her to be exposed?
Good episode! Dallas
