Fun episode, Bre! I liked using the brunch as a setting to bring so many people together.
It was nice to see some varied opinions and reactions -- some of them surprising -- about the Max/Shauna engagement. It was smart of them to gather everyone at once to break the news, rather than letting it trickle out or offend anyone who found out after someone else. It was, of course, very soapy and dramatic to have Antoine walk in when he did. I liked that you showed his internal conflict, as he almost resented the feelings he felt while observing Shauna, and he knows that he has a good thing brewing with Nichelle. That sort of thing is so human and soapy.
Also intrigued to see Antoine and Courtney interacting and possibly commiserating like that. That's not a pairing I had thought of as far as sharing scenes, but I like the fresh potential of those interactions. And it felt very real for Shauna to be a bit put-off by the way Mae and Martha were discussing her engagement, without anyone going over-the-top.
I'm kind of surprised Peter caved so quickly regarding the organic products, but I think that says a lot about his faith in Louise, even if he doesn't always lead with that. I enjoyed how you peppered SJ into that scene just to give it some life, too!
Oh, and great use of character having Esther be the one to make Steven see things from Courtney's POV.

The news of the engagement didn't take long to spread. Like Michael, it was neat to see the various reactions. I did feel bad for Antoine because he has always cared for Shauna, even though he has tried to move on with Nichelle. It will be interesting to see if he will try to process his feelings for Shauna and try to get for himself or if this will push him closer to Nichelle. Also interesting intersection with Courtney & Antonie ... they haven't shared many scenes together so far.
I'm so curious to know where this farm storyline is going with the organic products with Louise and Daniel and Peter. I've still felt like maybe Louise and Daniel would eventually end up in some sort of romance together, which of course would create even more drama in this storyline. You've done a good job with the pacing of this storyline.
Great read! Looking forward to the next D
