Happy New Year, Bre! I always enjoy these holiday episodes. It adds a special energy to the proceedings.

Interesting to have Louise reflecting on the anniversary of her engagement as her marriage is ending. She and Daniel were very mature with one another, and I think they have a nice chemistry. She kind of tempers him without taking away his edge. I'm looking forward to hearing about how the twins' trip with Sean went -- bet that was rather contentious!

I really liked that moment between Courtney and Antoine. It makes sense for them to cross paths, and the way Courtney's POV on her story informed Antoine's outlook on the Shauna situation was clever. Shauna and Max are very likable together, too. That seemed like a lovely, romantic first New Year's for them!

I continue to enjoy how you keep the world "open" by including details on character who aren't on canvas right now, like Mae's youngest. I have no doubt that will become an important story thread at some point.

And I chuckled at Martha being passed out as midnight hit, lol. She's definitely ready to pop!

Same to you Michael! I enjoy Holiday episodes as well. They're very strategic to write but overall rewarding at the end.

I knew that I wanted to focus on Louise having a moment of reflection of the day that changed her life on that day twenty-one years ago. I think Daniel and Louise have a good chemistry too. They can be themselves whilst not taking away their strength together. I'm sure the twins were only happy to be with their other grandparents rather than being with their dad for sure.

I really liked that moment between Courtney and Antoine. It makes sense for them to cross paths, and the way Courtney's POV on her story informed Antoine's outlook on the Shauna situation was clever. Shauna and Max are very likable together, too. That seemed like a lovely, romantic first New Year's for them!

I realized that these two hadn't share a scene together so I added that into give Antoine some perspective on what he is dealing with Shauna and to make another connection on the canvas. I think when Shauna is with Max she feels romantic unlike with Antoine she feels lust and anger. I wanted their first NYE together to be quite special.

I continue to enjoy how you keep the world "open" by including details on character who aren't on canvas right now, like Mae's youngest. I have no doubt that will become an important story thread at some point.

In my mind this "serial" has been going on for years. So I can see when and why Will went to prison and how effected the Jackson clan. We'll get some more time in the next episode of how Mae feels about the situation.

And I chuckled at Martha being passed out as midnight hit, lol. She's definitely ready to pop!

With her being nine months pregnant and ready to deliver this month (if timing permits) she easily fell asleep with all of that noise and circumstance.

Nice NYE episode ... I really loved the Max & Shauna stuff the most. At first I thought that Shauna was going to be a gold digger or use too much of Max's funds but he was more than surprised by what she had planned. The scenes opposite of it with Antoine struggling to get over the fact that he knew what was happening was nice. I'm curious to see how this plays out going forward.

I also loved Louise and Daniel's interaction as they genuinely seem to care for one another, which you've questioned with Louise and Sean. I don't doubt that they don't care for one another but I would question how much Sean respects Lou considering his behavior.

Great episode - I can't wait to see what you have in store for the new year!

Shauna wanted to plan a romantic evening for her new man. She isn't a gold digger even if her man is worth $30 million dollars. She is more swept up in the romantic grandeur of it all since she never has experienced a getaway quite like this with a man she clearly cares about. Antoine is really struggling with Shauna being able to somewhat not fall for his charm. We'll have to see how it will go in the future with this set.

I also loved Louise and Daniel's interaction as they genuinely seem to care for one another, which you've questioned with Louise and Sean. I don't doubt that they don't care for one another but I would question how much Sean respects Lou considering his behavior.

Louise and Daniel have the type of chemistry that sways from good friendship to a possible love match down the road. I do believe that deep down Sean and Louise do care for one another however as they became older and life getting in the way they lost what made them fell for one another. I think somehow Sean thinks since they have this arrangement she is understanding of him speaking to his mistress at the drop of the hat.
