Whoa, what an action packed episode with the fall out of Courtney & Steven learning the truth about Esther & Daniel's involvement in trying them up. I continue to enjoy that Lorraine was honest about what was happening; it shows that she does have a moral compass which doesn't always happen on soaps.

Courtney confronting Daniel was also good. She was so hurt that her father would do this to her really came through. I would have enjoyed a good slap though! haha maybe it is still coming. They clearly have a long road ahead of them, however.

It was also great how Lorraine spilled that Esther's involvement. Like Courtney with Daniel, his reaction was pretty spot on. I do like how Peter tried to intervene with the language, but the fallout from this is really good soap. I am enjoying this storyline!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the fallout of this story which have been going on for awhile now. I wanted to show Lorraine is a good person who was willing to tell the truth in spite of losing her chance of auditioning for a top ballet company. Besides she realized that Steven does have legitimate feelings for Courtney which surprised her since she thought she was just some young tail he was using to get over her since their marriage is over.

I wanted to show Courtney that she might be the young heroine of the show but she does have a backbone and isn't willing to backdown when it comes to her life. She knew her father disliked Steven Sullivan and certain members of his family due to the rivalry, however I showed Daniel having his own moral compass which is his late beloved wife Keri.

It was also great how Lorraine spilled that Esther's involvement. Like Courtney with Daniel, his reaction was pretty spot on. I do like how Peter tried to intervene with the language, but the fallout from this is really good soap. I am enjoying this storyline!

Lorraine dropping Esther into this was totally last minute but rewarding nevertheless. I knew that Peter had to step up as Saunders Patriarch when it comes to protecting his sister and laying down the law with his nephew. I'm happy that you're finding this storyline entertaining/

Great episode! I really enjoyed how everything revolved around the Steven/Courtney relationship and their various interlopers. Lorraine maintaining her integrity by coming clean -- and yet not being completely guilt-free -- was a great twist. And I love that Courtney isn't some passive heroine who just has stuff happening to her. In a weird way, it shows that she really is Daniel's daughter. BTW, I didn't realize that Daniel had been widowed so recently. When he pictured up the picture of Keri and spoke to it, it kind of clicked for me that he's being so controlling with Courtney because that loss is so fresh for him.

It's almost like karma rewarded Lorraine by producing that job for her.

I figured Tommy would be staying in town, but his reaction to Daniel's proclamation was pretty funny, and it does seem wise of Daniel not to blow more money on boarding schools and instead to keep his son close to home. Guess we'll see how this goes...

I really loved writing this episode and I consider it to be a penultimate episode of the series so far. I knew that I wanted Lorraine had to be the one to tell everything and to also drop in Esther in it as well. In the next episode you'll see how certain aspects of this story will play out. When coming up for the characterization of Courtney Covington I knew she in some regards had to be the female version of Daniel, as well as Heather Tom's version of Victoria Newman when she was written like Victor. Daniel lost his wife and father in a span of a few short months so he has been silently grieving for awhile now.It does explain why he is so controlling towards his children and headstrong when it comes to the company too.

I always like when the wealthy young characters in narratives find themselves in situations that is foreign to them and going to a public high school in the middle of the semester is going to lead to some interesting dynamics. You're right Daniel is like I'm not paying any more money because you might get caught doing something and get kicked out again. LOL
