Nice episode, Bre!
One thing that I really enjoy that you do consistently is include family members in scenes together. Even if their presence doesn't particularly advance story, it really rounds out the universe and makes the characters more believable as family. I liked that Martha was in the scenes with Sarah, Steven, and Evan even though she didn't NEED to be, for example, and it allowed her pregnancy to come up organically. Same with Courtney and Max going out for breakfast. It didn't necessarily push story, but it fleshed out both their situations and added some depth.
I imagine this three-day trip is going to turn into something big for Courtney, but I'm not exactly sure (or sure at all!) what that might be yet. Interesting. I also liked the softer moment between Steven and Lorraine. That feels realistic, the way exes can so easily slip into familiarity.
