You know what was great about this episode, even though Peter and Martha were at odds when he calls her "baby girl", you know that his voice is coming from a place of love. He just grew up in a different era when people were in a relationship/married when they had a child together. You can't fault him for being stuck in that past life; so many people actually are. It feels realistic. And, the fall! I sure hope Martha and the child will be okay. The baby has provided so much drama.
Danny vs. Steven could be an epic rivalry. It reminded me of Jack vs. Victor on Y&R having nick names for each other that drive one another crazy. I hope Courtney doesn't steer away from her romance because her Dad is against it; it could add such drama on the series!
Great read, Dallas

Good episode!
It was nice to see the Steven/Courtney thing blow up, now that you'd laid all the groundwork and shown us so clearly what Daniel's relationship to the Saunders family is like. I like that the issue for Daniel isn't particularly the family feud (at least not at the moment), but the age difference. That's a realistic touch and pretty understandable, although of course all the bad blood isn't going to help things! I wonder if Courtney is going to defy her father and if that'll make her want Steven more. I really liked Esther walking in on that scene, because it placed the two parent/child relationships in such stark contrast to one another. Also, nice touch with the Bonnie Raitt song beginning to play just as the face-off began to attract more attention, lol!
Peter's POV makes sense to me, like Dallas said, even if I think he's overreacting as far as Martha needing to be married/with a man to raise her child. It feels wrong of her not to tell the baby's father unless he's dangerous, a criminal, abusive, or something like that. The guy has a right to know, and I hope she comes around in that regard! I feel like her unborn child would also appreciate at least having his or her father aware that s/he exists. I wonder if this complication she's experiencing might get Peter to come around, though.
Oh, and I really enjoyed how you took the time for that quiet little Mae/Esther scene. It wasn't really about pushing story forward, just two characters connecting and catching each other up and reflecting on life. You always need those in soaps.
Thanks for reading Michael!!!
