Good episode, Bre!
I liked how you used the bar setting to have Courtney's identity came out. There was a real sense of creeping tension there -- first with her not wanting to have Shauna redecorate for her, then wanting to go to the farm for fear of being recognized, and finally with Daniel coming back up to the table as she was meeting Louise. I really wonder how Steven will react. Courtney hasn't exactly LIED, nor has she done anything underhanded, but I can still get how and why he'd feel duped.
I purposely had the fallout in The Waterfall, because I wanted a setting with enough characters can witness the fallout, In the next episode we'll find out how Steven will react to everything. Let's not forget that Steven is too hiding that he just came out of a divorce and has a five-year-old son he never told Courtney about too.
I don't blame Shauna for not wanting to have a relationship with Cassie. Sure, it's her mother, but she has no reason to trust her or feel safe with her. She can learn to be civil toward her, sure, but she shouldn't have to have a relationship just because of biology. I know Mae means well, but it doesn't sound like having Cassie in her life is really good for Shauna at this time.
She and her mother do not have a typical mother-daughter relationship in the slightest. She can't bring herself to develop anything close to one. In addition, Shauna is going to be an aspirational character in the vein of Erica Kane, Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, and Brooke Logan. Mae wants her family back together no matter how fractured her family is at the moment. She is somewhat envious of Esther and Sarah Lynn having a dynamic relationship with their children.
Having the twins know about Sean's affair (or what they think is strictly an affair) is a great way to make it more of a family story. I like that there's two of them so they can debate whether it's right to tell Louise, how to act toward Sean, etc. This is all very complicated, which makes for good soap.
I knew that Tanner was not going keep this " secret" for long so I knew that she would tell Lynn what is going on? In upcoming episodes, both twins will be civil to their father and let's just say their relationship with him will be forever altered. Louise will be still in the dark about not knowing about the girls knowing about the affair.
Nicely done! I continue to look forward to seeing how things progress
Thanks again, for reading Michael!
